Job summary

Boot Barn in Irvine, CA is recruiting a Technical Designer to manage product category from concept to production, establishing fit standards and grading across multiple factories. You will lead pattern development, create block patterns, and coordinate with Design, Product Management and Vendors to meet target cost and brand standards.

You will prepare prototypes, lead live-model fit sessions, and develop technical packages with graded specs and construction details to support accurate costing

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Technical Design, Design or Product Development.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Technical Design team.
• Able to communicate 3-D fit corrections into a 2-D pattern.
• Experience working on-site with factory/sample room is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Execute fit, grading and construction from prototype to production.
• Create and provide pattern directions and maintain block patterns.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Management and Vendors to hit target cost & brand standards.
• Prepare prototypes and lead fit sessions on live models with Design & Product Management.
• Develop and route technical packages including graded specifications and construction details.
• Continually improve quality of fit and construction.
