Job summary

Soni is seeking a Technical Designer to join its Men’s & Boy’s Sportswear team in New York. The role involves developing tech packs and graded specs across sizes 2T-20 in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in men's and boy's sportswear patterning and tech design.
• Experience across tops, bottoms, knits and wovens for boys and men.
• Proficient with MS Office and Excel for spec sheets.
• Proficient in Mac OS environment for design tasks.
• Strong knowledge of construction and sewing; safety protocols for children.
• Able to communicate with overseas makers and balance multiple deadlines.

A well-established Men’s & Boy’s Sportswear Company is looking for a motivated, organized and experienced Technical Designer who can work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with design and sourcing to create specs for development samples and costing for styles ranging from Men’s to 2T-7 and 8-20.
• Maintain and Update Block Spec library
• Create graded specs for orders and work with Assistant Designer to complete Tech Packs
• Conduct fittings and evaluate garments from proto to pre-production
• Communicate effectively with overseas makers through email, photo references, and video conference calls
• Collaborate with Production Managers to ensure timely delivery of corrections to fit and pattern

Requirements

• Ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in Men’s & Boy’s Sportswear 2T through 20
• Must have experience in all categories of tops, bottoms, knits & wovens for boys & men’s
• Must be able to use MS office & Excel for spec sheets
• Must be proficient in using a Mac Desktop
• Extensive knowledge in construction and sewing
• Strong knowledge and experience with children’s safety protocol
• Should be familiar with all categories of tops, bottoms, knits & wovens for girls & ladies
• Must be capable of working with a team
• Must be able to multitask and balance multiple deadlines
• Clear and excellent communication skills with overseas makers

Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 DOE

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
