Job summary

Fourth Floor is seeking a Technical Designer for its young men’s and boys’ sportswear team in New York. The role involves collaborating with design and sourcing to develop specs for development in sizes 2T–20 and leading fittings from pronto to pre-production.

You’ll work with an Assistant Designer on Tech Packs, communicate with overseas makers, and coordinate with Production Managers to ensure timely corrections for fit and pattern. Friday work-from-home is available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in tops, bottoms, knits & wovens for boys & men.
• Proficient in MS Office & Excel for specs.
• Proficient in using Mac Desktop.

*WFH flexibility on Fridays

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with design and sourcing to create specs for development in men's sizes ranging from 2T-7 and 8-20
• Work with Assistant Designer on Tech Packs and make graded specs for orders
• Lead fittings and assess garments from pronto to pre-production
• Communicate with overseas makers
• Work with Production Managers to ensure deliveries are on time for corrections to fit and pattern

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in tops, bottoms, knits & wovens for boys & men's
• Can use MS office & Excel for spec sheets
• Proficient in using Mac Desktop
• Knowledge in construction and sewing
• Strong knowledge and experience with children's safety protocol
• Works well with a team
• Familiar with tops, bottoms, knits & wovens for girls and ladies
• Proficient in Adobe CS
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
