Job description

Our company is a global sourcing company that specializes in the manufacturing and sales of activewear and sportswear. We are looking for a full-time technical designer who enjoys a fast-paced, multitask, organized, detail-oriented person to join our team.

Purpose

Strategically interpret and develop the commercialization and engineering of product to meet design vision, merchant requirements and company financial goals. Manage the product integrity of merchandise across assigned departments. Ensure products achieve the fit, construction and quality requirements to meet customer expectations, brand positioning and are aligned with Design and Merchandising objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop tech packs including sewing construction & detail, graded spec and “how to measure” application
• Track / receive fit samples and prepare for fitting
• Prepare fitting with live fit models
• Organize fit samples.
• Make a note while fitting
• Upload fit pictures and add all related information on Tech pack.
• Work with Technical designers
• Assist Senior Technical Designers.
• Adobe Illustrator is a must skill to have
• Collaborate with the Production and Design team from the product development to Production.
• Participate in fitting (proto through production). Advise design of all discrepancies between garment received and spec. Record all fit comments assisting the designer in resolutions as needed.
• Communicate with factories resolving any questions arising from technical specs and helping to maintain designer’s direction and aesthetic expectation
• Keep a constant flow of communication with factories and team members.
• Maintain professional & clear daily communication with factories regarding construction details, fit and pattern issues. Ensure that all necessary parties are kept in the loop in a timely manner

Job Requirements

• Bachelors or Associate Degree in Technical Design or Pattern Making.
• Over 2 years ‘experience in the apparel industry
• Technical knowledge of sewing machine and garment construction
• Strong knowledge of patternmaking and grading and production/manufacturing processes and capabilities
• Must be proficient in MS office, Photoshop, Illustrator. Especially excel must be expert level.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Experience fitting and correcting women’s / men’s garments with designers, taking all comments and preparing specs and communicating all corrections to factories.
• Self-motivated and self-directed with continuous desire to learn and grow
• Ability to work with multiple teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational skill, attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Must have responsibility for work and following directions.
• Must be legally eligible to work in U.S.A
