Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Technical Designer for an onsite Manhattan, NY contract position. This 3+ month engagement focuses on executing the technical design process from development to final fit.

The role requires hands-on fittings, strong knit and woven pattern skills, and the ability to manage fit specs with vendors. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in technical design, a Bachelor’s in Fashion, and PLM experience (Centric).

Responsibilities

• Own a space and conduct fittings independently for the current project.
• Execute the technical design process from development to final fit as an individual contributor.
• Analyze and evaluate garments to develop correct fit specifications.
• Ensure products are developed in line with fit quality, standards, capabilities and cost specs.
• Develop technical specifications and communicate fit to vendors/factories for approvals.
• Make adjustments with factories to maintain design integrity and prototype quality.

Immediate need for a talented Technical Designer. This is a 03+ months contract opportunity and is located in Manhattan, New York (Onsite).

Pay Range: $46 - $46.20/hr. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• If they are interested in full time, they would be reporting into a manager & want to ensure they are OK with that for the long haul based on their current level.
• This person would ideally need to own a space & conduct fittings on their own, so needs enough experience in this field, but still can be trained under management
• Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.
• Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
• Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
• Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
• Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Candidates should have a strong pattern making background/ experience with knits and wovens/ PLM experience (we use centric)/ fast and efficient worker.
• Sr. Tech experience is great, but do not want someone who has already managed a team- feel they may be overqualified for this role.
• Looking for junior TD level (5-10 yrs) - can be Sr. but not someone who has managed a large team.
• Typically reports to Technical Services Manager.
• Typically directs Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years' experience in technical design.
