Base pay range

$42.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Technical Designer – Intimates Team | In-Office (NYC)

Contract Role via Russell Tobin & Associates

Location: New York, NY 10038 (4-5 days onsite)

Pay Rate: $42-$50/hour (W2), depending on experience

Contract Length: 2-month contract (non-extendable)

Our client – a globally recognized, iconic fashion brand known for setting the standard in fit, comfort, and quality in intimate apparel and loungewear – is seeking a seasoned Technical Designer to join their team in New York City.

About the Role:

This is an individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit. You will play a critical role in ensuring products meet the highest standards of fit and comfort, working closely with design, merchandising, and vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in and/or lead garment fittings, writing detailed fit comments and pattern corrections.
• Develop, adjust, and communicate technical specifications and tech packs using Flex PLM, Centric, Excel, and Illustrator.
• Collaborate with factories and vendors to ensure design integrity, product quality, and cost targets are met.
• Evaluate and analyze garments to develop accurate fit specifications.
• Support and sometimes direct Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in technical design, with a strong focus on intimates and apparel.
• Proficiency in Flex PLM, Centric, Excel, and Illustrator.
• Must have experience leading fittings and writing comprehensive fit comments.
• Comfortable working onsite 4-5 days per week.
