Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Technical Business Analyst in Houston, TX for a 3-month contract with possible extension. The role focuses on bridging business stakeholders and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

The candidate should be analytical, technically minded, and able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. The role involves gathering and documenting requirements, supporting SDLC, facilitating workshops, and coordinating testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting IT and enterprise technology projects.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, business process analysis, and requirements management.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, system integrations, and software delivery methodologies.
• Experience analyzing, interpreting, and presenting insights from business and system data.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• MBA preferred, ideally with a focus in Finance or Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements.
• Define project scope, business objectives, process flows, use cases, and functional specifications.
• Analyze business processes and identify gaps, opportunities, and potential improvements.
• Evaluate potential technology solutions and provide recommendations aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct cost-benefit evaluations and assessments to support technology decisions.
• Act as a primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and solution review sessions.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
• Build strong working relationships across technical and business teams.
• Translate business needs into user stories and detailed solution requirements.
• Work closely with development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Help ensure requirements are clearly understood and solutions are delivered as intended.
• Support change management by tracking requirements, dependencies, risks, and change requests.
• Partner with QA teams to develop test plans and validate business requirements.
• Coordinate and support system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Guide business users through testing activities and help ensure solutions meet business expectations.
• Support issue identification, clarification, and resolution throughout testing and delivery.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, requirements repositories, and process artifacts.
• Evaluate implemented solutions and project outcomes to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
