Job summary

On-Demand Group is seeking a hands-on Technical Business Analyst who can bridge business, data, technology and vendors. You will assess current-state workflows, capture clear requirements, and ensure vendors understand data needs for the future state.

You will document business rules, data definitions, and gaps, support vendor evaluations, and maintain traceability through design, implementation and testing.

Job description

Seeking a Technical Business Analyst who can bridge business, data, technology, and vendor teams. This resource will assess current-state workflows and data usage, translate findings into clear requirements, and ensure vendors understand the capabilities and data requirements needed for the future state.

Core Responsibilities

• Assess and document current-state business workflows, processes, data usage, and reporting needs.
• Facilitate discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders to uncover requirements and validate assumptions.
• Translate business needs into clear, detailed functional, technical, data, and reporting requirements suitable for vendor consumption.
• Identify data sources, inputs/outputs, integrations, handoffs, and downstream dependencies.
• Document business rules, data definitions, process gaps, exceptions, and future-state requirements.
• Challenge and test assumptions, identify gaps, and drive questions to resolution.
• Support vendor evaluation by helping determine whether proposed solutions meet documented business and technical requirements.
• Maintain requirements traceability and support clarification through design, implementation, and testing.
• Partner effectively across Product/Program Management, Architecture, Engineering/technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and Procurement.

• Strong documentation skills, including process flows, business/functional requirements, data requirements, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify gaps and inconsistencies rather than simply document what is provided.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and translating internal needs into vendor-ready requirements.
• Comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited initial documentation.
• Quick study, self-directed, highly motivated, and able to independently drive work forward in a fast-paced environment.
• Healthcare payer experience strongly preferred, particularly familiarity with payer business processes, data, and reporting.
• Experience with healthcare data domains such as member/enrollment, provider, claims, benefits, authorization/utilization management, clinical, financial, or operational data.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting vendor selection, RFP/RFI, procurement, implementation, or platform transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with data integrations, source-to-target/data mapping, interfaces, APIs/file exchanges, and downstream reporting or analytics dependencies.
• Experience working on initiatives involving current-state assessment and future-state solution/vendor definition.

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on BA who does more than take requirements: someone who can dig into how the business actually operates, follow the data through the process, identify what has not been considered, ask the right questions, and convert ambiguity into requirements that technical teams and vendors can act on.
