Job summary

SVA Theatre is seeking part-time Technical Assistants to support events with film/video projection, lighting, and audio. Reporting to and assisting the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Directors, you will execute audio/visual requirements during events and help ensure smooth presentations.

You may have experience with one type of technology or multiple; the role welcomes diverse backgrounds. Technical Assistants work an average of 6–25 hours per week, up to 40 hours, and SVA Theatre

Qualifications

• Experience with operating theatrical/cinematic technology and equipment (digital and/or film projection).
• Experience with PA/audio systems and live sound.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and stay calm in high-pressure situations.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work unsupervised and make time-sensitive decisions.
• Comfort using Google Apps and Apple products.
• Must be able to work in tight spaces.
• Able to work events lasting 5–6 hours, weekdays and weekends.
