Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group’s Hanover Technology Group seeks a Technical Architect to lead the project solution and architecture efforts from Worcester, MA in a hybrid work setting. The role owners the architecture process, drives high-level and detailed designs, and aligns with enterprise standards while mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities include enforcing architectural principles, collaborating with business and architecture teams, and ensuring secure, scalable solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or related field.
• 2–5 years design and implementation experience in IT or consulting.
• Experience with database platforms (SQL, Oracle, DB2).
• Experience with multiple technologies and environments.
• Exposure to various business systems and processing environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate project solution and technical design.
• Ensure adherence to architectural principles and patterns.
• Design high-level and detailed architecture aligned with standards.
• Review technical specifications and approve designs.
• Mentor technical leads and developers on architecture.
• Support SDLC processes (waterfall, Agile, or hybrid).
• Collaborate with business, solution, information and data architects.
