Job summary

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to lead key accounting areas, including debt and equity arrangements, and to support quarterly and annual financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.

This role partners across Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury and Tax to ensure accurate disclosures and audit-ready documentation. Responsibilities include preparing technical memos, journal entries, monitoring new accounting pronouncements, and supporting the annual audit and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or pursuing CPA.
• 4–6 years of public/private accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting theory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with technical accounting memos and external audits.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for complex transactions including debt and equity arrangements.
• Prepare technical accounting memos, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and implement standards.
• Collaborate on annual financial statements, footnotes and audit support.
• Assist in the management of the annual audit.
• Support monthly/quarterly close activities and P&L/balance sheet reviews.
• Prepare California ESG reports and lead audit review.
• Drive process improvements in accounting controls and IT enhancements.
• Support SOX compliance and internal controls design.
