We are seeking a Technical Accountant to join our growing Financial Operations practice.

As a Technical Accountant Consultant at Bridgepoint, you will assist clients with complex accounting projects involving implementing new standards or ensuring compliance with current standards.

What You’ll Do:

1. Research technical issues and prepare analyses, memos/white papers with reasoning and conclusions.
2. Present and defend accounting positions to external auditors.
3. Develop financial reporting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new accounting guidance.
4. Prepare and file SEC filings (10-K’s, 10-Q’s, S-1’s, and 8-K’s) and compile tie-out and supporting documents.
5. Assist with IPO and audit readiness.

What You’ll Need:

1. A passion and curiosity for understanding and researching complex accounting issues.
2. 4+ years of public accounting experience, most recently as Senior Associate or Manager, with at least 3 years focused on technical accounting; Big Four experience is a plus.
3. B.A. or B.S. in Accounting; Master’s in Accounting is a plus.
4. CPA, currently sitting for CPA, or CPA eligible.
5. Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service.
6. Knowledge of FASB guidance including revenue recognition (ASC 606), software recognition (ASC 985-605), leasing (ASC 842), and stock-based compensation (ASC 718).
7. Experience with technology and software industries.
8. Experience writing technical accounting position papers.
9. Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
10. Proficiency with SEC financial reporting requirements.
11. Very thorough and detail-oriented.
