Job summary

Bridgepoint Consulting, part of Addison Group, seeks an Assistant Controller to join its Financial Operations practice in a fast-growing firm. You will support reconciliations, month-end close, client readiness for audits, and integration of merger data while collaborating with CFOs and client staff.

This role emphasizes strong accounting skills, consulting mindset, and adaptable problem-solving. Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of hands-on accounting experience and a CPA/MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience.
• B.A. or B.S. in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service.
• Industry experience in startups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance or Big Four/public accounting preferred.
• Experience with monthly close procedures and financial reporting (monthly/quarterly).
• Hands-on familiarity with AP, AR, GL, payroll, and cash management.
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Coordinate delivery with Financial Operations team and other practice areas.
• Assist with reconciliations, month-end close, and audit readiness.
• Clean up client books and assist merger/acquisition data integration.
• Interact with client CFOs, controllers, and staff.
• Provide project status updates and insights to the delivery manager.
• Be flexible and take on tasks outside comfort zone.

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing Financial Operations practice. As an Assistant Controller at Bridgepoint, you will be a valuable part of our client delivery team.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and maintain relationships with Current and prospective clients
• Interact with BPC members in Financial Operations and other practice areas of the firm to coordinate excellent delivery
• Assist with reconciliations, month end reporting, preparing clients for audit, cleaning up their books, and assisting their department with integration of merger and acquisition data
• Interact directly with the client contact (CFO, Controller) and their staff
• Provide project status updates, feedback, and thoughtful insights into client challenges for your delivery manager
• Embrace flexibility and take on tasks and assignments that may be out of your comfort zone

Skills You’ll Need:

Required:

• 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience
• B.A. or B.S. required, Accounting or Finance degrees are a plus
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
• Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance and Big Four/public accounting is highly preferred
• Experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Recent hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct), along with moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
• Ability to adapt to various client environments, and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
• Demonstration of a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience researching technical GAAP issues
• Past experience working in small to mid-sized company environment with the ability to multi-task and wear several hats

Preferred:

• CPA and/or MBA preferred
• Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized accounting firms
• Industry experience in emerging growth, technology, and SaaS companies
• Revenue Recognitions highly preferred
