Greenberg Traurig’s Technology Transactions attorneys are positioned in major technology hubs worldwide, assisting clients with intellectual property, licensing, data privacy and sophisticated commercial transactions. The associate will work with startups, growth-stage companies, and global enterprises on complex deals and product launches.

The role is a full-time position in San Diego or Portland, with compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Deep knowledge of intellectual property and commercial contract law, particularly relating to software, hardware and digital assets.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and open source license frameworks.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on commercial and licensing agreements and IP matters.
• Counsel on product-related regulatory considerations.
• Draft and negotiate complex technology licensing deals.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support client goals and transactions.
• Navigate data privacy and compliance issues in deals.
