Job summary

Oklahoma Baptist University is seeking a Tech Support Specialist to assist students and employees with technology questions and issues. The role involves in-person and remote support, guiding users through configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance while ensuring prompt, professional service.

Ideal candidates will have strong problem-solving and communication skills, a background in HelpDesk environments, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Some overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills required.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
• Proficiency in English and strong documentation skills.
• Experience in a HelpDesk setting is a plus.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for technical assistance via phone, in person, tickets, or email.
• Guide users through configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance both remotely and in person.
• Escalate issues to higher-level support when necessary and document resolutions.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information and track time in university systems.
• Develop training resources and standardized processes.
