Job summary

McKinstry in Tampa, FL is seeking a Technology Solutions Engineer to support BAS performance and contractor oversight for diverse facilities including hospitals and schools.

The role centers on troubleshooting BAS issues, coordinating with technicians, and optimizing network architecture to maximize data throughput while supporting critical environments. Candidates should have 5–7+ years in BAS/controls and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent work experience in the built environment.
• 5-7+ years of BAS/controls experience, especially programming, integration, and energy management.
• Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS User
• Capability to process fast paced triage of incoming client work orders
• Excellent controls project management and people skills
• Understanding of building efficiency and basic design principles and standards
• Familiarity with IT troubleshooting in support of BAS networks
• Certification or experience in Metasys, Alerton, AX, N4, Niagara, Distech, and BACnet strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting support for BAS performance issues.
• Provide technical support and oversight of BAS contractors and client technicians for BAS-related workflow.
• Leverage knowledge of BAS networks to ensure remodeled systems are optimized to maximize data throughput.
• Ensure stable architectures to support healthcare, critical facilities, higher education and K-12.
