Job summary

BARNES is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician for the Mitsubishi Cell in East Granby, CT on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30am-3:00pm). Requires 1–4 years in sheet metal and shop assembly, plus ability to read blueprints and lift heavy materials.

Candidate must have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively to solve complex problems. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Sheet Metal Technician - Mitsubishi Cell (1st Shift)

East Granby- CRO

Position Details:

1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm

Your Expertise:

• 1-4 years of sheet metal, shop assembly experience
• Ability to cross train to support all areas of Sheet Metal Assembly
• Ability to lift heavy materials and tools
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues

Your Challenge:

• Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how to where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet meatal products
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out materials to be installed using tools such as scribes, micrometers, Vernier, calipers, etc.
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and seamless appearance.
• Fasten details on aircraft and industrial engine components using rivets, fasteners, bolts, etc.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
