Job summary

BARNES is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician for the Mitsubishi Cell in East Granby, CT on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30am-3:00pm). Requires 1–4 years in sheet metal and shop assembly, plus ability to read blueprints and lift heavy materials.

Candidate must have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively to solve complex problems. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of sheet metal, shop assembly experience
• Able to read and interpret blueprints
• Able to lift heavy materials and tools

Responsibilities

• Utilize and interpret blueprints to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out materials using precision tools
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints
• Fasten details on aircraft and industrial engine components using rivets, fasteners, bolts, etc.
