Job summary

Belcan is seeking a CNC Milling Machinist (1st Shift) in East Granby, CT to perform complex set ups and operate CNC Devlieg milling machines on aerospace components. You will verify dimensions, read blueprints, and coordinate with engineering for tool and material considerations.

The role requires 3–5 years in aerospace machining, 3+ years on Devlieg machines, GD&T and SPC knowledge, and familiarity with Fanuc controls; cross-training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years aerospace machining experience.
• 3+ years setting up and operating Devlieg milling machines.
• Familiar with Fanuc controls; open to cross training on various operations.
• Strong GD&T and SPC knowledge.
• Willing to learn basic CNC programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex set ups and edits on established and NPI jobs with minimal supervision.
• Verify dimensions with micrometers, depth/height gauges, and verniers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
• Collaborate with engineering on material conditions and tooling.
• Identify and report faulty operations or materials.

Job Title: CNC Milling Machinist (1st Shift)

Locations: East Granby, CT (CT South)

Pay: $24 - $37 (DoE) - Full Benefits Package Provided

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri

Type: Full-Time/Permanent Position

Experience & Skill Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of experience machining in an aerospace environment
• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Devlieg Milling Machines
• Needs to be familiar with Fanuc controls; willing to cross train on various operations/equipment
• Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of GD&T
• Familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Willing to learn basic CNC Programming

Role & Responsibilities:

• Perform complex set ups, edits and operate established and NPI jobs with minimal supervision ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements. Make modifications or adjustments as necessary
• Verify dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gage, height gage, and vernier
• Read and interpret blueprints and operations sheets
• Work with engineering department regarding material conditions, best positioning of part, tool pressure, etc. as required
• Detect faulty operations and materials and report these along with other problems to immediate supervisor

Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required
