Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in East Granby, CT is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician for the Mitsubishi Cell on the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30am–3:00pm). The role requires 1–4 years of sheet metal or shop assembly experience and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

You will measure, mark, and lay out materials with precision tools; trim, buff, and finish metal surfaces; and fasten details with rivets, bolts, and other fasteners.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of sheet metal or shop assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and interpret blueprints to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products.
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out materials using scribes, micrometers, Vernier, calipers, etc.
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, and finish metal surfaces and joints.
• Fasten details on aircraft and engine components using rivets, bolts, and other fasteners.
