Job summary

United Airlines is hiring an Analyst - Resource Planning in Chicago to support long-term labor planning for Airport Operations and Technical Operations. You will develop staffing forecasts, budgets, and analyses to align with flight schedules and service goals, partnering with station leadership and cross-functional teams.

You’ll present workforce insights and drive improvements across planning, productivity, and costs, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days in office.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a finance-related, engineering-related, or analytical role.
• Excel and PowerPoint proficiency with strong analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication across groups.
• Background in quantitative or operations-related field such as Operations Management, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or Economics.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop staffing recommendations for future flight schedules using planning tools and labor constraints.
• Collaborate with station leadership to finalize monthly manpower levels.
• Create budgets, forecasts, and 18-month rolling plans to support decisions.
• Perform variance analysis and present findings to leadership and Finance partners.
• Support analyses related to staffing changes, labor agreements, and initiatives.
• Lead or support projects across operational and corporate teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning efficiency and reduce costs.
• Present workforce planning insights to department and station leadership.
