Job summary

Indian Prairie Public Library District in Darien, Illinois, seeks a Technology and Maker Services Specialist to assist guests at the Technology Desk and in the Maker Studio. You will help with computers, software, devices, and DIY projects, while planning and presenting Maker and Technology classes.

The role requires friendly, patient service, at least two years of public-facing work, and strong computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching technology and/or in planning and presenting library programming.
• At least two years of work experience with the public.
• At least two years' experience using computers in a work or educational environment.
• Proficiency in using computers and other devices, including smartphones and tablets.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests at the Technology Desk and in the Maker Studio with computers, software, devices, and DIY projects.
• Plan and present Maker and Technology classes.
• Provide device and technology recommendations to guests.
• Book computers, equipment, and tech help; troubleshoot to ensure a seamless guest experience.
