Job summary

Scale AI seeks a Tech Lead for the ARC team to shape how the company ships software in government and high-security environments. You will mentor engineers, own backend services and drive health goals while re-architecting stacks for air-gapped and compliant deployments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with customers, and influence platform roadmap for public sector products, balancing security, reliability, and scale.

Qualifications

• Active secret clearance required.
• Experience designing secure scalable backends for government and air-gapped environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure scalable backend systems for Public Sector customers, leveraging Scale's modern and cloud-native AI infrastructure.
• Provide mentorship to and manage the performance of the other team members
• Own services or systems and define their long-term health goals, while also improving the health of surrounding components.
• Re-architect the stack to run in compliant or restrictive environments with swappable auth/storage/logging components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the vision for backend solutions for government agencies.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Contribute to platform roadmap and product strategy for Scale AI's Public Sector business.
