Asana, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Lead for the AI Teammates Platform to guide technical strategy, architecture, and execution.

You will bridge frontier AI with enterprise-grade software, collaborating closely with model providers like OpenAI and Anthropic, and scale systems that serve millions of users in a hybrid office setting in San Francisco. The role emphasizes leadership, reliability, and developer growth, with close ties to product, design, data science, and research teams.

Qualifications

6+ years of software engineering in large codebases.
2+ years leading engineering teams or as a technical lead.
Experience or strong interest in Applied AI / Agentic Systems.
Excellent collaboration and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Set the technical strategy for the AI Teammates execution engine, tool orchestration, and platform APIs within Asana.
Drive the team to improve reliability, architecture, and evaluation methodologies.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and Research to understand agentic patterns and solution needs.
Architect and own the composable platform foundation and enable self-serve integration for domains.
Oversee high-impact initiatives from model evals to latency tuning and cost optimization.
