Allied World in New Jersey seeks a seasoned Tech Lead to guide design, development and delivery of enterprise insurance solutions with a focus on AI-enabled engineering across the SDLC. Lead global teams to boost speed, quality and business impact.

The role requires 10+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in a lead capacity, with strong P&C/Commercial insurance domain expertise and cloud-native know-how. AWS Serverless, microservices, and CI/CD are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering and application delivery experience.
• 5+ years in a Technical Lead, Solution Lead, or Engineering Lead capacity.
• Strong experience delivering complex enterprise solutions within the Property & Casualty (P&C), Specialty, or Commercial Insurance industry.
• Proven experience leading global onshore/offshore delivery teams.
• Hands-on experience with modern software engineering practices and cloud-native development.
• AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) for cloud-native solutions.
• Modern application architecture and design.
• API-first and event-driven architectures.
• Microservices and distributed systems.
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Integration technologies and enterprise data patterns.
• Database design and optimization.
• Application security and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining full-stack applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
• Adopt new technologies, including Python, React, Node.js, and AWS Serverless.
• Drive adoption of AI tools throughout the SDLC to improve engineering productivity and solution quality.
• Utilize modern AI platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and similar tools for software design and development.
• Vibe Coding & Rapid Innovation.
• Demonstrate expertise in vibe coding and AI-assisted development methodologies.
• Rapidly build Proof of Concepts (POCs), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and prototypes using AI-enabled development platforms.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities and recommend practical applications for business value.
• Promote a fail-fast experimentation culture while maintaining enterprise-grade engineering standards.
