Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. operates Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA. We are seeking an ER Technician to support emergency care, under the supervision of a registered nurse and physician, across all age groups.

The role requires BLS, CPI within 30 days, and either EMT/CNA/MA certification or current RN student status with clinical coursework. You will help maintain patient flow and assist in the ED team to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association.
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
• Follow the plan of care and manage patient needs across age groups.
• Support smooth patient flow in the Emergency Department.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.
