Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA, is seeking an ER Technician to deliver patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and physician. You will follow the plan of care and assist with directives to maintain smooth patient flow in the Emergency Department.

Requirements include a high school diploma, BLS certification, CPI within 30 days of hire, CA EMT/CNA/Medical Assistant or RN student, and basic dysrhythmia certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• One year or more experience in acute care preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
• CPI required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care under RN/physician supervision in the ED.

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
