Job summary

Sylvania seeks an Anticipated Long-Term Substitute in Technical Education to provide hands-on instruction in design, engineering, manufacturing, and CAD. The role emphasizes safety, project-based learning, and student-centered engagement.

The teacher will align instruction to New Jersey Student Learning Standards, differentiate for diverse learners, and collaborate with colleagues to foster career-ready skills in a dynamic classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate with the appropriate endorsement for Technology Education/Technical Education, or eligibility to obtain appropriate New Jersey certification.
• Knowledge of technical education concepts, tools, equipment, materials, and applicable safety procedures.
• Experience with design, engineering, woodworking, manufacturing, CAD, robotics, or related technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Technical Education curriculum aligned with NJ Student Learning Standards.
• Provide engaging, hands-on instruction in design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, CAD, and related areas.
• Teach students to safely use tools, equipment, and technologies in technical education courses.
• Incorporate project-based learning, design challenges, and real-world applications.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school initiatives and interdisciplinary learning.
