Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Technical Associate to assist technologists, physicians and staff with peripheral activities during general diagnostic exams and specialty areas. You will prepare patients, assist during procedures, and handle supplies and clerical tasks.

This role also provides back-up support as PSR and in tech duties; strong computer skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in direct patient care required.

  • Accompany patients during procedures.
  • Process paperwork and perform computer entries and image processing.

Job description

Summary

Provide assistance to technologist; physicians and other staff members with peripheral activities associated with general diagnostic exams or other specialty areas as directed. Typical duties include preparing patients for the exam, assisting physicians during procedures as directed, obtaining necessary supplies for procedures, patient accompaniment, process paper work, computer entries and image processing. This position will also provide back-up services as a Technical Associate and as a PSR.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
  • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Meditech (if applicable to position)
  • Epic (if applicable to position)
  • Performance Manager/NetLearning
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
