Job summary

Rippling, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting & Reporting to lead complex accounting research, financial reporting, and policy setting as part of the Corporate Accounting team.

This role partners with cross-functional teams and external auditors, driving public-company readiness while building scalable close processes. The ideal candidate has deep US GAAP expertise, strong SEC reporting instincts, and a track record of leading teams in high-growth environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in progressive roles in accounting and/or auditing within technical accounting research and financial reporting.
• BS degree in Accounting and CPA required.
• Public accounting experience, especially Big Four or national firm, strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting background with deep knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency with researching accounting literature (FASB, SEC, AICPA, IFRS).
• Experience with SEC reporting and public-company readiness work, incl. IPO prep.
• Experience navigating increased reporting complexity toward public-company readiness.
• People management experience with coaching accounting professionals.
• Excellent written communication to turn complex issues into memos.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research and documentation for complex areas.
• Own preparation and review of technical memos, policy positions, and conclusions.
• Lead external reporting readiness, including disclosure development and controls.
• Drive evolution from private to public-company reporting standards.
• Coach and develop a high-performing technical accounting team.
• Partner with Legal, FP&A, Tax, Equity, and other teams on new products and initiatives.
• Support quarterly and annual audit processes with external auditors.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies and controls.
• Monitor new standards and SEC developments; plan adoption and communicate impact.
• Prepare executive-ready and audit committee materials.
