Job summary

Rippling, based in San Francisco, seeks a Technical Accounting Manager to own complex US GAAP research and policy development. You will collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, Equity, Treasury, and external auditors to strengthen accounting judgments and readiness for public-company reporting.

This is a highly technical role requiring research-driven memos, clear conclusions, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in progressive roles in accounting and/or auditing focusing on technical accounting research.
• CPA highly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting experience with deep US GAAP knowledge and ability to research, interpret, and apply complex guidance.
• Proficient at researching accounting literature including FASB, SEC, AICPA and IFRS rules/regulations.
• Experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting memos and supporting documentation for audit review.
• Experience in a public-company environment or supporting public-company reporting requirements.
• Familiar with SEC reporting expectations, disclosures, and quarterly/annual reporting cycles.
• Experience partnering with external auditors and addressing technical accounting review comments.
• Excellent written communication to explain complex accounting issues clearly.
• Public accounting experience, especially in audit or technical accounting advisory, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own technical accounting research and documentation for complex and judgmental US GAAP areas.
• Support local GAAP requirements with International Accounting team.
• Prepare high-quality technical memos, policy analyses, and audit-ready conclusions.
• Support accounting for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, debt and equity transactions, and other topics.
• Collaborate with Senior Manager to build scalable accounting policies and processes.
• Assess accounting implications of non-standard transactions and new products with cross-functional teams.
• Support SEC-style disclosure and quarterly/annual reporting readiness.
• Monitor new accounting standards and advise on company impact.
• Coordinate with external auditors on positions and documentation.
• Contribute to audit committee-ready materials explaining conclusions clearly.
