Job summary

FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, MI is hiring a seasoned Team Member Relations leader to advise management on labor policy, investigations, and employee communications.

You will oversee disciplinary processes, recognition programs, and team events, ensuring compliance with Tribal, Federal, and State requirements. This full-time role reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and offers a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.
  • Six (6) years combination of education and/or experience in Team Member Relations including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred; four (4) years experience in Team Member Relations administration.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers consultation and support with HR Policies and Procedures.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

Days, Monday through Friday with availability to work off-hours for special events

PAY:

Starting range of $66,123.20 - $81,016.00 annually.

REPORTS TO:

Vice President of Human Resources

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Assists in the planning, directing and supervising of the activities of the Team Member Relations staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

  • Counsel management with respect to Tribal, Federal and State regulations impacting employment policy and practices, including wage and hour regulations, as required.
  • Provides consultation and support with Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures CEO, Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and Team Members receive accurate information relating to Policies and Procedures.
  • Manages and conducts timely and effective research and investigations in response to internal/external Team Member complaints concluding such research and investigations with thorough and timely documentation.
  • Develops and manages Team Member recognition programs and analyzes their effectiveness or lack thereof.
  • Oversees Team Member communications and strives to improve or expand communication opportunities; Hotline, Town Halls, etc.
  • Leads a committee to plan and execute various Team Member events throughout the year including but not limited to Fair Day, Winter Rally, etc.
  • Ensures exiting Team Members receive exit interviews, consolidates Team Member feedback, and analyzes for trends.
  • Coordinates and reviews all governmental reporting requirements and ensures their timely submittal.
  • Works closely with Vice President of Human Resources in regards to Team Member and departmental issues and concerns, and provides feedback.
  • Ensures documentation for Team Member disciplinary action is correct and appropriate and guides supervisors and managers with proper documentation process.
  • Ensures random drug tests are completed with integrity, fairness and confidentiality.
  • Maintains and distributes to Vice President of Human Resources, narratives from Team Member meetings and other pertinent discussions.
  • Participates in Manager Meetings and other relevant meetings relating to Human Resources.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Outstanding example of and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining sufficient staffing levels; interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs. WEEA Certified.
