FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Security Team Member responsible for protecting guests and Team Members, administering first aid, and enforcing safety and gaming regulations on property.

The role requires EMT/Paramedic licensure or certification (MFR/EMT/Specialist/AEMT), CPR, and a valid Michigan driver’s license, plus strong communication skills. Shifts include 3:00 pm–11:30 pm and 11:00 pm–7:30 am.

  • High School diploma or GED; valid Michigan Emergency Licensure (MFR/EMT/Specialist-AEMT or Paramedic) and CPR certification.
  • Must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Attends to the medical needs of guests and Team Members on assigned shift.
  • Works with Risk Management on property liability and Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies and related items.
  • Assists with monthly fire extinguisher and eye wash checks.
  • Familiar with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and good driving record; ensures safety and guest support on property.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

3:00 pm - 11:30 pm; 11:00 pm - 7:30am

PAY:

Starting at $19.67 per hour, with opportunities for annual increases. Shift premium of $1 per hour while working between the hours of 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift, administering first aid and emergency medical attention to guests and Team Members on property, as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

  • Attends to the medical needs of guests and Team Members on assigned shift.
  • Works in collaboration with the Risk Management Department regarding property liability and Workers’ Compensation claims
  • Maintains appropriate inventory control of such items as oxygen, first aid supplies, and related office supplies.
  • Assists with monthly fire extinguisher and eye wash checks.
  • Is familiar with the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) used on property, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Identifies potential safety hazards and reports findings to the appropriate individual, for proper resolution.
  • Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license, as well as a good driving record. Physical endurance and stamina, as well as effective communication skills.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the company’s facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow Team Members.
  • Interacts with guests and Team Members in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.
  • Assists with money fills and escorts, as needed.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of those guests and/or Team Members who have been banned from re-entering the property, and advises appropriate individuals and departments when seeing trespassers on property.
  • Accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the legal age, to ensure compliance with Tribal, state and federal gaming regulations.
  • Completes daily medical bag checks and restocking of medical bags after incidents.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.
