Job summary

LH Mercantile, LLC is a local Pet Supplies Plus franchisee with 16 Chicago-area locations. As a Part-time Team Member, you’ll provide friendly service, help customers choose products, and support sales while caring for pets.

You’ll stock shelves, maintain displays, assist with inventory, and ensure a clean, safe store and friendly experience for neighbors and animals. Flexible weekends and holidays valued.

Qualifications

• A true passion for pets and interest in pet care and nutrition.
• Customer service mindset and ability to engage with neighbors and their pets.
• Willingness to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors and assist with product selection.
• Greet customers, handle checkout, returns, and coupon policies per SOP.
• Stock shelves, rotate products, and maintain planograms and inventory accuracy.
• Care for live animals per safety and sanitation standards, ensuring cleanliness.

What You do:

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors, assist with product selection, answer questions about pet care, and support sales initiatives.
• Greet neighbors (customers), collect neighbor data, follow standard operating procedures for cash handling, returns, and coupon policies, etc.
• Stock shelves, rotate products, maintain displays, and assist with receiving and tracking inventory to ensure accuracy and product availability; assist with carry outs, and planogram integrity.
• Ensure proper feeding, cleaning, handling, and monitoring of live animals in the store to maintain health, safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for neighbors, team members, and animals, including adherence to sanitation and safety protocols.
