Schedule: 12:30 - 8:30pm Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday

Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs a variety of baking duties and assists with the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, and other pastries.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, rolls, and other baked goods, including icing and frostings, according to established recipes.
  2. Monitor and maintain quality control standards.
  3. Care for culinary equipment, supplies, and materials.
  4. Apply food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
  5. Review production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and gather supplies and equipment.
  6. Apply toppings on specialty baked items.
  7. Shape dough for cookies, pies, and other pastries by hand or using tools.
  8. Cut, weigh, mold, and place dough in pans, inspect for quality, and make process adjustments as needed.
  9. Detect and dispose of spoiled or defective food and supplies.
  10. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  11. Prioritize tasks, multitask, and focus on work.
  12. Work collaboratively with team members.
  13. Arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  14. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  15. Follow directions and complete delegated tasks.
  16. Perform tasks consistently at an acceptable rate.
  17. Ensure a safe work environment according to all regulations.
  18. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Department Manager.
Requirements
  • Bakery and shift lead experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Stand or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladders.
  • Reach above shoulder height frequently.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Have finger and hand dexterity.
  • Good vision, including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Read register screens and labels.
