Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Michigan is seeking a Team Leader to guide department activities, ensure safety, quality, and productivity, and provide first-line support for abnormal conditions. You will train staff, certify skills progression, and coordinate inbound/outbound truck schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include overseeing loading/unloading, verifying counts, and ensuring safe equipment operation.

Qualifications

  • Receive, stock, and deliver goods as needed.
  • Operate PC and scan gun equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees personnel loading and unloading trucks, verifies counts, inspects packaging.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment by team members.
  • Train team members on processes, procedures and tasks in their zone.
  • Certify team members on workstations per progression on skills matrix.
  • Track and communicate inbound/outbound truck schedules.
  • Maintain constant communication with supervisor and forklift drivers.
  • Verify EDI requirements and setup/manage loads.
  • Lead and assist shipping personnel as needed.
  • Spot check labeling of staged containers throughout the day.
  • Enforce FIFO procedures and plant rules (dress, hair, cell phone).
  • Provide relief to production team for breaks/lunches as needed.
  • May perform work of production operators or forklift drivers to cover shortages.
