Covenant Health, through Peninsula Behavioral Health, is seeking a Team Leader Psychiatric Technician for Unit E - Women’s Thought. This full-time role supports daily operations, staff supervision, and patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting.

The position emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with the Nurse Manager and Nursing Leadership Team to optimize patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social science, education, sociology, ethics, health or humanities; significant treatment experience may substitute with HS diploma.
• Experience as Psychiatric Technician or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Meet with Nurse Manager regularly for supervision and planning.
• Coordinate treatment activities with other departments.
• Schedule unit staff and ensure adequate coverage.
• Maintain programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and Joint Commission.
• Facilitate virtual court processes and communicate with staff about shifts.
• Provide direction and guidance to Psychiatric Technicians in staff/patient interactions.
• Assist with bed management and patient flow.
• Mentor and orient new staff; may serve as preceptor.
• Participate in staff training and development sessions.
• Travel locally for patient appointments or transfers.

Education
