Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and guidance in daily activities as part of a patient care team.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic patient environment.
• Reports patient changes to the Registered Nurse promptly.
• Documents objective patient care in the medical record.
• Follows emergency policies and ensures emergency devices are available and working.
• Coordinates with Nurse Manager/Supervisor and others to structure unit milieu.
• Participates in training and orientation of new staff.
• Monitors patient activities and specialized observation needs.
• Assists with activities of daily living and monitors vital signs.
• Acts as an extension of Clinical Services/Physical Therapy to deliver therapeutic activities.
• Supports the treatment plan through small group dynamics.
• Attends shift reports and shares relevant patient information.
• Accompanies patients to appointments as required.
• Maintains certifications and completes mandatory education.
