Job description

Position Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for the safe execution of the Atlanta utilities, facilities, and production maintenance schedule in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and other applicable regulatory requirements. They actively promote colleague engagement and development utilizing both site and corporate resources.

Responsibilities
  • Adapt quickly in a startup environment, leading process development, optimization, and innovation, while collaborating across teams and managing resources efficiently.
  • Manage and oversee maintenance shop floor performance, including participation in daily Gemba walks.
  • Utilize Zoetis supervision process effectively for all direct reports, including setting objectives, development plans, and performance reviews, aiming to improve team capabilities.
  • Conduct investigations and provide initial event summaries to site leadership.
  • Ensure all team members are compliant with training requirements and perform Human Performance Evaluations as applicable.
  • Manage employee relations effectively and in accordance with company policies.
  • Lead or participate in special projects related to manufacturing facility and equipment improvements, ensuring timely analysis and lifecycle management.
  • Respond to process or equipment events, maintaining communication with relevant specialists.
  • Ensure maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance are completed timely and documented properly.
  • Address equipment alarms promptly, resolving issues efficiently and communicating across departments.
  • Assist technicians with problem-solving to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Adhere to standards, SOPs, and safety procedures, assisting in documentation review and writing as needed.
Organizational Relationships

Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance and Utilities Lead, the Team Leader will collaborate closely with various disciplines within Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities.

Resources Managed
  • Manage labor hours and overtime within budget.
  • Control parts and equipment purchases within scope and budget.
Supervision
  • Supervise budgeted headcount, including temporary workers if necessary.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a skilled trade with 3-5 years of supervisory maintenance experience.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and investigate process failures.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
  • Strong alignment with Zoetis values and leadership competencies.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams, and interact positively with all levels of staff.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent physical activities including reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Work in varying temperatures and environments.
