Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a talented Field Services Team Leader to supervise technicians in the Lynn Haven field team. You will ensure proper training, organization, and supervision within the Field Services department to maintain high-quality material testing operations.

The role emphasizes safeguarding safety culture, overseeing field activities, and mentoring junior staff while supporting project managers and client coordination. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of related experience in construction materials testing.
  • Maintain basic certifications; advanced certifications may be required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Strong understanding of ASTM testing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, test, sample, and inspect materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, structural steel) on construction sites.
  • Maintain inventory and organize supplies; calibrate and maintain field equipment; promote safety and PPE usage.
  • Communicate daily with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; support scheduling and staffing; mentor junior staff; attend project meetings; may participate in biz dev.

Job description

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Field Services Team Leader to join our Lynn Haventeam. In this role, you will successfully ensure that our technicians are properly trained and organized through supervision within the Field Services department.

Responsibilities
  • Field Activities: Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites.
  • Safety: Inventory maintenance and organization of supplies; Calibration and maintenance of field equipment to include keeping accurate records; Promote safety and safety culture; Ensure proper PPE is used on project sites; Assist with company required safety training.
  • Communication: Daily communication with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; Collaborate with Team Leaders to support scheduling operations and recruiting to maintain appropriate staff among your team; Assist with management of field staff; Actively mentor and train junior field staff as they grow in their careers; Provide support to project managers and department manager as needed; Attend project meetings as requested; May participate in business development, marketing, and client development.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • Must have and be willing to maintain basic certifications.
  • Advanced certifications may be required based on the work performed.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Advanced understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
  • Proficient at data interpretation and evaluation of CMT techniques and results.
  • Experience performing field and/or laboratory tests on construction materials and the ability to evaluate test results in terms of specification compliance.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials testing and evaluation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
