Job Description

Permatex is currently looking for a 2nd Shift Team Lead in our Manufacturing Department. 2nd Shift is from 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Basic Function

To operate, oversee and coordinate shift production, production scheduling, oversee maintenance/PM and changeover activities. Required to operate filling and packaging equipment according to procedures given by Manufacturing Manager. Creating a collaborative team environment with an open communication culture.

Job Duties

• Coordinate production efficiently with Manufacturing Manager while ensuring quality.
• Operate and tend machines performing packaging functions such as filling, labeling, packing, or closing containers.
• Adjust, set-up, changeover, maintain, clean, and operate various filling and packaging machines.
• Shutdown equipment when problems arise and make necessary corrections across departments.
• Utilize ERP system, reference daily production schedule, and update metrics as needed.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Identify, isolate, and correct equipment malfunctions.
• Report production, labor, and scrap accurately and timely.
• Ensure associates are trained in operations and changeover procedures.
• Supervise/direct operators and temporary staff; administer policies and procedures.
• Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality guidelines.
• Address team feedback, resolve issues, and report incidents appropriately.
• Participate in training and professional development activities.

Machine Operators and Temporary Staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required
• 5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in filling and packaging, in a supervisory or lead role.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Computer literate.
• Forklift certification for all types.
