NiSource Inc. seeks a Team Leader - Design/Drafting to guide a design/drafting team and oversee 2D/3D AutoCAD work. You will ensure proper resourcing across Field and Design Engineering projects and collaborate with stakeholders on large distribution projects.

The role balances people leadership with project execution, maintaining CAD templates and accurate design records while coordinating with Engineering teams and operations.

Competenze

• 5+ years of relevant design/drafting experience.
• Knowledge of Engineering and Construction principles.
• Proficiency with GIS systems.
• Proficiency with piping systems materials, fittings, supports, and specifications.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience leading design projects from concept through completion.
• Experience preparing documentation for regulatory approvals and permitting.
• Ability to mentor and train junior designers and drafters.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in team environment.
• Valid Driver's license.

• Lead and mentor direct reports and implement processes to enable the achievement of team goals and objectives.
• Provide team members with direction and feedback as well as monitor performance and provide coaching where necessary.
• Evaluate resources and make changes necessary to support the workflow.
• Maintain AutoCAD templates and libraries for driving consistency across the entire Engineering organization.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documents to ensure accurate drafting.
• Use AutoCAD to produce models for natural gas distribution systems and stations in 3D.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and updates to ensure documentation is up to date.
• Assist with site survey data aggregation for new installations and system upgrades.
• Integrate and extrapolate GIS data to support site analysis, route selection, and environmental assessments.
• Possible support of Engineering/Operations employees in emergency situations along with other courses in business operations.
• Possible need to demonstrate the ability to work through emergency outage management, possibly providing after-hours support.
• Partner with Field Engineering, Design Engineering, Field Operations, Construction, and other key stakeholders to meet strategic goals and objectives that drives value to our customers.
