Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Team Leader for Design and Drafting to guide a team of designers and drafters. This role involves overseeing 3D AutoCAD work and ensuring accurate drafting for gas distribution projects across multiple sites, including Canonsburg, Columbus, and others.

You will manage resources and collaborate with Engineering and Field Ops teams to deliver on project goals. Key responsibilities include mentoring staff, maintaining CAD templates, and coordinating with stakeholders on

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant design/drafting experience.
Proficiency with GIS systems.
Knowledge of piping systems incl. materials, fittings, supports, specs.
Experience leading design projects from concept to completion.
Ability to mentor junior designers and drafters.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor direct reports and implement processes to achieve team goals.
Provide direction and feedback, monitor performance, and coach as needed.
Evaluate resources and adjust to support workflow.
Maintain AutoCAD templates and libraries for consistency.
Use AutoCAD to produce 3D models of gas distribution systems and stations.
Prepare and maintain records of design changes and updates.
Assist with site survey data aggregation for new installs and upgrades.
Integrate GIS data to support site analysis, route selection, and safety assessments.
