Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a customer-first store environment. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, set up displays, and help open/close the store under supervision.

The role emphasizes leadership during shifts, accurate cash handling, planogram adherence, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages.
• Ability to operate a cash register and scanner.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases, collect payment, make change, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; restock and rotate items on shelves.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom; set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
