Job summary

Meijer Great Lakes is seeking a team member to help create a superior shopping experience for customers and to support daily store operations. You will engage with customers and teammates, supervise daily tasks, and contribute to training and coaching to meet service goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership to improve customer service, sales, and store profitability while maintaining safety and product freshness.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engaging with customers and peers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport with customers.
• Able to lift/carry/push/pull/bend/twist while handling products.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet and exceed service and sales goals.
• Assist in training new team members and cross-training high potential talent.
• Support department scheduling to enhance engagement, service, and store profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team on food safety standards and safe working practices.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and display where applicable.
• Foster Meijer culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and cash handling when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as needed.
