Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Milieu Counselor to support the nursing team and provide therapeutic milieu and patient-centered care. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote learning and adaptive coping strategies for patients and families.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to the development of therapeutic groups, ensure patient safety, and participate in unit activities and staff meetings to maintain a cohesive team.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of psychology experience with specialized populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team; group facilitation and crisis management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
• Under RN direction, provide individualized patient care.
• Participate in unit activities and interdisciplinary staff meetings.
