Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Milieu Counselor to support nursing staff in delivering therapeutic care within a structured milieu. You will work under a Registered Nurse to provide individualized patient care, promote safety, and contribute to a collaborative treatment environment for patients and families.

Responsibilities include participating in interdisciplinary staff activities and ensuring PFCC principles guide interactions with patients, families, and the care team.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in Psychology with specialized populations.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team with strong communication and crisis management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu/environment to ensure the care and treatment of patients.
• Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides individualized patient care to ensure safety and dignity of the patient.
• Participates in unit activities that promote a cohesive staff group.
