Job summary

HOPE Christian Schools in Milwaukee seeks a Teaching Assistant to support academic success and character development under the Lead Teacher and Principal. You will assist with lesson preparation, classroom management, and one-on-one tutoring while helping scholars reach their potential.

You will collaborate with scholars, parents, and staff to maintain high standards, track attendance and achievement data, and implement lessons and assessments as designed by the lead teacher.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred.
• Experience working with youth and families in urban communities is desired.
• Proficient with technology and classroom devices.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and gathering materials.
• Support students through one-on-one tutoring or small groups.
• Implement lessons and assessments as designed by the lead teacher.
• Maintain attendance, behavior, and student achievement records.
• Help monitor transitions and reinforce classroom procedures.
• Build rapport with scholars, families, and staff.
• Seek feedback and engage in professional development.
