Job summary

Hope-Christian-Schools is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support scholar learning and character development under the Lead Teacher and Principal. You will work with students, families, and staff to develop instructional skills and manage the classroom effectively.

The role emphasizes one-on-one and small-group tutoring, technology support, and collaboration with the school team to meet academic and behavioral goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• At least one year of teacher experience is a plus.
• Experience working with youth and families in urban communities.
• Proficient with technology.
• Valid teaching credential or willingness to attain one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment.
• Assist in lesson preparation and distribution of supplies.
• Support students with one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction.
• Maintain attendance, behavior, and student achievement data.
• Support use of educational technology and monitor student activity.
• Build rapport with scholars, parents, and families.
• Perform other duties as requested.
