Job summary

HOPE Christian Schools is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support scholars’ academic success and character development in the assigned classroom. You will work closely with scholars, parents, and administrators to foster effective learning and classroom management.

You will assist with lesson preparation, in-class support, and one-on-one tutoring under the lead teacher’s guidance, helping students reach high academic and behavioral standards. Prior experience with youth is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Experience working with youth and families in urban settings is valued.
• Proficient with technology and able to support learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, structured learning environment and assist in lesson preparation.
• Help implement lessons, assessments, and character education as designed by the lead teacher.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction under guidance from the lead teacher.
• Maintain accurate attendance, behavior, and student achievement records.
• Monitor and support students during transitions and lunch/recess periods.
• Assist with educational technology and classroom management to keep students engaged.
